Coffee, coffee, coffee…not just a beverage but a comodity. Did you know that over 2.25 billion cups of coffee are consumed each day across the world? Crazy when you think about it, but coffee has been around for quite some time, and with that comes lots of research, perfecting and information. Coming from the coffee industry I can say that I am nowhere surprised with these stats.

Coffee and tea serve as an international language that everyone speaks. It has no borders and everyone loves it. So what’s with the history lesson right?! Wellll, I wanted to give the good ole Cup of Joe a nod for all my fitness friends. The benefits of coffee are quite lengthy if you ask me which is why I’m choosing to highlight the top 3 attributes that may benefit you on your fitness journey.

1. ENERGY! – Yes the active “ingredient” in coffee is caffeine, also the main component in most fat burners and other weight-loss products on the market. I say skip the weight-loss products and drink coffee instead.

2. Zero Calories – Not only delicious, this beverage is naturally calorie free! Note that once you start adding all those sugary syrups and creamy add-in, not only does the taste profile change, but the nutritional profile changes as well. I usually take my coffee black or add a half packet of Stevia.

3. Convenient/Social – This is my favorite because there’s no need to search high and low for a cup of this goodness. It’s something that can be enjoyed with friends which is great because being social is what keeps us balanced! A balanced life is a happy life!
